Detroit rockers No Resolve

12 01 2009

A friend introduced me to the music of No Resolve. The Michigan rockers are making quite a name for themselves and have a growing following in southeast Michigan. From what I have heard, I do not know why they haven’t went national already.  They’re a great local band, original and inspiring.

They have a solid, heavy sound but do not skimp on melody. There are strains of Nickelback, Tool and Everclear (the harder stuff) in their sound. They’re a hard rock band with a gritty edge.

Lead singer, Oscar, sounds great on the ballad, “Never Let You Go” and the mid-tempo rocker “Trust Not.” He can really belt out a tune without screaming or growling. The guitar work on “Take Me Home” is very good and carries the song. It might be their strongest song.

If you like hard-driving “alternative rock” give ’em a listen. There are song samples at their myspace page
